What drives IKEA?

According to Bloomberg IKEA workers in Italy are on strike for being timed on toilet breaks. Makes you wonder what IKEA's mission is and what drives them. Is it design? I wonder. They do many nice things but they do it in a rational way. Besides timing workers, at least in Italy, they tap the market for design ideas much more than being creative themselves. It's a behavior of a linear and thinking personality rather than a artistic and emotional one.

Revolution around the corner?

Is an american revolution around the corner? According to the prominent trend forecaster Gerald Celente it is. I think he might be right, again. What's about to happen might feel terrifying. But it's a path we need to take in order to learn. It will be part of a bigger change that eventually will be a good thing. It will make us more open towards awareness, the coming trend that will affect every aspect of business.

Science and the taboo of psi

Interesting talk by Dean Radin at Google Techtalks 2008. "Science and the taboo of psi". Confirms the fact that we are part of an intelligent grid explaining the correlation between design and behavior as I expressed in Design Genetics.

Less linear than Apple

HTC's new phone HTC Legend is really interesting. This is more inspiring than Apple's iPhone that's kind of stuck in a “linear” design strategy.

Danger of Internet Filtering.

It seems that several western governments are implementing Internet Filtering. One country is Australia reported by Australian IT "Australia's compulsory internet filtering 'costly, ineffective'". Another is USA who is in great danger of taking steps away from democracy. The words of Naomi Wolf is more relevant than ever "Fascist America, in 10 easy steps". It might be that I'm overreacting. But it's a very disturbing development depending on who is in control of the filtering and why it's done.
